The recipe of today includes 3 different ways to make "Granola Bars" , 3 different flavours:
with Chocolate Chip, with Walnuts & Seeds (Flax, Pumpkin, Sesame and Sunflower) and with Almonds & Raisins.
These bars are healthy & delicious snacks with lot of benefits and low calories.
The base for this snacks are the rolled oats, honey, shredded coconut and a bit of brown sugar.
Here's some curiosities about all the ingredients that I've used:
-(Whole-Wheat) Rolled Oats:
Contain: Fiber,Phosphorus, Selenium,Iron,Vitamin B1,Magnesium, Beta-Glucan)
Benefits: *Reduce "bad" Cholesterol, Blood Pressure and prevent Diabetes
- Honey:
Contains:Flavonoids and Antioxidants.
Contains:Flavonoids and Antioxidants.
Benefits: prevent Cancer and Heart Disease, reduce Ulcers, Cough and Throat irritation. Anti-Bacterial and Anti-Fungal.
- Walnuts:
Contain: Omega 3 , ALA (Alpha Linoleic Acid), Vitamin E, Manganese, Iron, Copper, Potassium, Calcium, Zinc, Selenium.
Benefits: reduce "bad" Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure.
Contain: Omega 3 , ALA (Alpha Linoleic Acid), Vitamin E, Manganese, Iron, Copper, Potassium, Calcium, Zinc, Selenium.

- Flaxseeds:
Contain: Fiber, ALA (Alpha Linolenic Acid), Omega 3, Iron , Potassium, Phosphorus, Manganese, Copper and Calcium
Benefits: Reduce "bad" Cholesterol and prevent Cancer (breast-colon- prostate)
-Pumpkin Seeds:
Contain: Omega 3, Magnesium, Potassium, Manganese, Copper, Iron, Zinc, Monounsatured Fats, Protein, Vitamins B1-B2-B3-A , Phytosterols.
Benefits: reduce Hypertension and Asthma.

-Sunflower Seeds:
Contain: Selenium, Protein, Magnesium, Fiber, Copper, Folic Acid, Phosphorus, Iron, Vitamins E - B1 - B5 - B6.

-Almonds:

-Raisins:
Contain: Potassium, Manganese, Copper, Iron, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Vitamins B - C - K.
Benefits: reduce Blood Pressure, protect Eyes&Teeth, cure Fever, help in treating Anemia, Bone formation and absorption of Calcium. Prevent Cancer and keep the heart healthy .
Contain: Potassium, Manganese, Copper, Iron, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Vitamins B - C - K.
Benefits: reduce Blood Pressure, protect Eyes&Teeth, cure Fever, help in treating Anemia, Bone formation and absorption of Calcium. Prevent Cancer and keep the heart healthy .
3 Homemade Granola Bars
#1-Chocolate Chip #2-Walnuts& Seeds
#3-Almond&Raisins
The Base
(The base is the same for all the bars):
2 Cups of Rolled Oats
1 Cup of shredded Coconut
3/4 Cup of Honey
2 Tablespoons of Brown Sugar
Then if you want to do:
#1-Chocolate Chip
-1 Cup of (Dark)Chocolate Chip
#2-Walnuts& Seeds
5-6 Walnuts
1 Tablespoon of Flaxseeds
1 Tablespoon of Sunflower seeds
1 Tablespoon of Sesam seeds
1 Tablespoon of Pumpkin seeds
#3-Almond&Raisins
1/2 Cup of Almonds
1/2 of Raisins
In a large bowl combine the oats, coconut, honey and the brown sugar. Mix all together. Here's the base. The doses for the recipe of the base is only for one of this 3 bars, if you want to do all these bars together you must to increase the recipe x3.If you want a basic bar you can stop here.
The base of these bars is delicious, sweet but not much.Yummy!
So, it's time to add in our bars the chocolate chip, walnuts and seeds , almonds and raisins. Be sure to mix everything well and then put the mixture in a rectangular baking tray with a foilof baking pan.
Bake at 356 F(180°C) for 18-20 minutes.
